ABOUT B.D.G SECURITY SERVICES:
Established in 2017, BDG Security Services is a private security firm that provides security services such armed guards and unarmed guards. The goal of our business is to protect our nation's safety and security. We enforce complete safety and a crime-free environment for all South Africans.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Security Guard to protect our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel. The successful candidate will maintain a high visibility presence, enforce safety protocols, and deter illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, prevent, and report security risks and ensure a safe and secure environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform standard duties as per training.
Safeguarding client assets and staff members.
Strictly comply with instructions given by superior.
Perform day or night shift duties according to the requirements of the client.
Act swiftly to alarms, security breaches, protests, or any suspicious activity.
Screen and monitor individuals entering restricted premises, maintain detailed entry and exit logs, and enforce security protocols.
Maintain accurate and detailed Occurrence Books (OB) and completing relevant registers.
Submit incident and shift reports, and promptly escalate any major issues to the superior or control room.
Conduct routine perimeter checks and patrols on foot or in company-marked vehicles, maintaining vigilance for any security risks.
Wear the correct uniform and utilise the assets of the company entrusted to the you with the utmost care.
Provide calm, organised management during unplanned service disruptions, or public gatherings to protect client staff and assets.
Display professionalism by acting in the best interest of the client to preserve its reputation and image.
At all times act with the utmost discretion and treat all matters with the required confidentiality in accordance to the client.
Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) specifications set out by the client including, following site rules, and reporting hazards.
Ensure that you are in possession of a permit of any firearms or ammunition under your control.
Follow the correct firearm issuing procedure at the beginning or end of each shift.
Complete the firearm register and conduct necessary inspection and checks on the firearm and/or ammunition.
Ensure that every firearm and/or ammunition under your control is correctly stored and documented correctly in accordance to the company policy.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Grade 12 (THIS IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSITION).
Accredited and registered and updated Grade B and Grade A PSIRA certificate.
Must have a valid South African Police Service (SAPS) competency certificate, trained for business purpose.
Competency statement of results.
Must have a valid Regulation 21 certificate.
Minimum of 2 years in the security industry.
Must have a Police Clearance Certificate.
Willing to undergo criminal checks regularly.
Must be medically fit.
ADVANTANGEOUS REQUIREMENTS:
Crowd Control certificate / Close Protection Certificate / First Aid Certificate.
Valid driver’s licence.
Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
