A road construction company dealing in Asphalting, tarring, patching, relaying and paving of national roads and highways based around the greater Durban region has the following vacant position:

Role: Senior QS.

Location: Durban, KZN.

Qualifications:

National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Science or related experience.

Minimum 5-10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, roads pricing, Final Certs.

Experience working with roads construction (SANRAL).

Able to complete measurements, work independently and with strong professionalism and communication skills.

Experience with CCS, QS Microsoft Packages, Candy and Build Smart.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour and timeframes.

Prepare tender packages and contracts, including BOQ.

Analyze repair/Maintenance costs, new contract costs and negotiate contracts and schedules.

Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects.

Manage risks, value Engineering and cost control measures.

Consult with clients to understand their requirements.

Ensure compliancy with regulations and quality standards.

Analyze outcomes and provide budget/progress reports.

Oversee and value contractors work for claims.
